I hope 2011 has got off to a fantastic start for everybody? I’ve got a very positive feeling about this one : )
(as confirmed by Doreen Virtue’s Oracle card reading!)
A really cool and useful thing to do at the beginning of January is create a dream board full of what you want out of the year.
It’s a great way of working out your truest wishes, consolidating goals and making them pretty – and therefore more appealing and possible to achieve!
This idea is inspired by a Hindu and Buddhist practice. ‘Mandala’ is a form of spiritual art representing the universe (or rather, your universe) and each detail included within it holds it’s own symbolic meaning.
Do a 10-15 minute meditation then browse through magazines/papers/books, whatever, and cut/stick/illustrate any images, words, colours or materials that you instinctively connect to. Your collage may set a complete scene or answer a personal question without even realising. Powerful stuff!
These are some of my pages put together last week…
“For what it’s worth, it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be.
There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want.
You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing.
We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it.
I hope you see things that startle you.
I hope you feel things you never felt before.
I hope you meet people with a different point of view.
I hope you live a life you’re proud of.
If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
